The rules of the room.

By creating an account or using any part of ReelQuest (the “Service”) you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to every visitor, account holder and guest player who accesses the Service, including anyone who joins a room with an invite code without holding an account. The Service is operated by ReelQuest (“we”, “us”, “our”).

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, because an account can hold a payment method and a credit balance. By registering you confirm you meet that requirement. Younger players may join a room hosted by an adult account holder; the host is responsible for who they invite.

You are responsible for:

• Giving accurate, current and complete registration information.
• Keeping your password and account credentials confidential.
• All activity under your account, whether or not you authorised it.
• Telling us immediately, through our contact form, if you become aware of unauthorised use of your account.

We may refuse registration or close an account at our discretion.

ReelQuest sells no subscription. There is no recurring charge and nothing auto-renews. You buy either a pack of credits or a single themed movie pack, once, at the price shown on the pricing page at the moment of purchase.

• Credits. Credits are spent on the AI-powered parts of the Service. Credits you buy do not expire. They hold no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and cannot be exchanged for money.
• Movie packs. A movie pack is a one-time purchase granting your account ongoing access to that pack while the Service operates. It is a licence to use the pack, not a transfer of ownership.
• Price changes. We may change prices at any time. A change never affects a purchase already completed.
• Refunds. Credits and packs are non-refundable once purchased, except where required by applicable law or granted at our discretion. If something is broken, or a pack does not work as described, contact us within 30 days of the charge and we will make it right.
• Taxes. You are responsible for any applicable taxes. Prices are shown exclusive of tax unless stated otherwise.

All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By supplying payment information you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method for the purchase you selected. Stripe’s terms apply to the payment itself.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Break any applicable local, state, national or international law or regulation.
• Harass, threaten, intimidate or harm any person, in a room or anywhere else.
• Send unsolicited commercial messages, spam or phishing content.
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware or any code meant to disrupt or damage systems.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, its servers or any connected system.
• Scrape, crawl or extract data from the Service by automated means without our prior written consent.
• Circumvent, disable or interfere with security features, usage limits or access controls.
• Infringe the intellectual property rights of ReelQuest or any third party.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the Service.
• Impersonate another person or entity, including inside a live room.

We may investigate violations and, where appropriate, suspend or close accounts without notice.

A room is a shared space. Whoever creates it is its host and is responsible for who they invite and for ending it if it goes wrong.

• Text you submit in a room is visible to every other player in that room, and is screened by an automated moderation pass first.
• You keep ownership of what you write. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and display it to the other players in that room, and to you afterwards.
• We may remove player content that breaks these Terms, and may end a room that does.
• Every movie night and quest carries a content rating so a host knows what the room is getting before it starts. Read it before you invite people.

ReelQuest does not host, stream, supply or licence any film. A movie pack is a set of challenges, prompts and trivia timed to a runtime — you bring the film yourself, from a service you already subscribe to or a copy you already own, and you are responsible for watching it lawfully. Film titles, artwork and trademarks belong to their respective rights holders and appear here only to identify the work a pack is built around.

The Service uses AI, powered by OpenAI, to generate night plans, challenge rounds and quest narrative. You acknowledge that:

• AI output is produced algorithmically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuited to your situation. It is provided for entertainment and planning inspiration only, and is not professional advice of any kind — legal, medical, financial or otherwise.
• You review and use AI output at your own discretion.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, safety or completeness of anything AI suggests.
• You agree not to use AI features to generate content that breaks these Terms or the law.

The Service and its original content — design, text, graphics, interface, code and the ReelQuest brand — are our property and are protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute or make derivative works from it without prior written permission.

You keep ownership of what you create using the Service. By using it you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and display your content only as far as running and improving the Service requires. We claim no ownership of it and do not use it for advertising or any external commercial purpose.

We may suspend or close your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms, or if closure is necessary to protect the Service, other players or ReelQuest.

You may close your account at any time from your account settings, or by asking us through our contact form. On closure we delete your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy, subject to legal retention obligations. Unspent credits are forfeited on closure and are not refunded.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Governing law: STATE — to be confirmed], United States, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state. If you are outside the United States, you also agree to your data being transferred to the United States for processing in line with our Privacy Policy.

We may revise these Terms to reflect changes in the Service, in the law, or in how we run the business. On a material change we update the “Last updated” stamp and tell you by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the revision. If you do not accept it, stop using the Service and close your account.
